Have you ever opened your Google Business Profile, spotted a missing five-star review, and immediately assumed your best customer had changed their mind? Take a deep breath; you’re far from the only business owner dealing with this. In more recent months, missing reviews have become a surprisingly common headache for business owners. The good news is that a missing review doesn't automatically mean it's gone forever, and in many cases, there's a path to getting it back. So before you panic, throw your laptop out the window, or accuse your competitors of hiring hackers, let's walk through what you should do next.
If you believe a legitimate review was removed by mistake, your first step is to contact Google and request that it be reviewed for reinstatement. The process is actually pretty straightforward, and we've included the link below to make it easy. When submitting your request, select your business, type “Missing Review” into the text field, and choose “Review Missing” as your issue to unlock the investigation form. Google may take some time to investigate, but plenty of reviews have been successfully restored! To do this you’ll just need to know the reviewer’s name, rating, what they said, and when they said it. If you’re using MWWGBP Local SEO, you have all historical review data at your fingertips so you can easily find the missing review and report it to Google.
